Excellent location with delightful boardwalk beside the river and marina. Ideal for river cruises, cycling and walking. Several restaurants to choose from below and beside the Hotel. We ate at Mud for lunch and enjoyed it so much we were back for dinner! Breakfast was served at Cube also just a lift ride away from our room.

    Superb

Sitting on the balcony with a view of the river was fabulous and the suite having all the "creature" comforts made our stay very enjoyable and relaxed. The staff were helpful, friendly and cheerful.

Having to pay (albeit subsidised) for parking. I felt it should have been provided

    Superb

Comfort and ease of access to some very good dining.

My only negative comment is in regard to the restaurant within the confines of Peppers. Although I know it is not a part of Peppers I found the restaurant "Mud" most unsatisfactory in terms of Quality of Food and Price. It surely must give a poor impression of Peppers to have a restaurant such as this so closely identified with the Peppers brand.

    Room Layout and Facilities

Never managed a good nights sleep, the noise from the road is astounding, semi trailers and trucks at all hours, coupled with the fact that there is no blackout curtains so the streetlights and daylight are constant..., If you are sensitive to either light or sound then this is definitely not the place to stay!! The tap on the washbasin prohibits either a facewash or a shave, and a measly little square of soap in the shower is all you get - inadequate. The room itself is very good, its such a pity the above just messes it up..

    Very good

    Hotel is new and clean.

The water pressure was low even though we were only at the second floor.

    Fabulous

Being close to the city, walks nearby and restaurants particularly downstairs

Would have liked a larger room and sea views for price I paid -Room was small for two people particularly with no balcony

    Superb

Everything. Staff was very helpful and importantly friendly compared to the Grand Chancellor. Staff explained everything in details upon checking in, something that the staff at the Grand Chancellor failed to do as their primary role in customer service.

Have to pay for carpark, but $10 for the two days was worth the money.

On check-in the girl at reception was very informative and pleasant and we also recieved 2 easter eggs at our door on Sunday morning which we thought was a lovely gesture.

Up until Sunday evening we enjoyed the hotel, however when we returned from a day out at around 6pm, we were suprised to find that the corridor and our room were filled with ciggarette smoke. My wife then called to reception to let them know and to see if they were able to do anything about the fact that a guest on our level was smoking and was told that they would come up and check where the smoke was coming from. We put up with the smoke for another 2 hours until we went to dinner at 8pm in Mud Restaurant. It wasn't just the slight smell of smoke, it was a strong and as if someone was continuously smoking very close by. We then came back to our room at around 10pm to find that the smell was no better and possibly stronger than before. My wife then went to reception and spoke to the same gentleman as before to ask about a possible room change if nothing else could be done, she was informed that we would have to pay $50.00 to change rooms and that he could not do anything about the smoke now anyway and didnt seem to care at all. We did not see why we would have to pay for another person smoking??? We then chose to leave the hotel as the smell was so intense and could not face sleeping in it. My wife is also pregnant and she especially should not be inhaling smoke fumes. We checked out at around 10.25pm and the gentleman at reception simply replied; "fair enough", continuing with the same uncaring attitude as before.
